What Is The National Quit Smoking Day?

Does anyone on here know what date the quit smoking day is? I think it might be called Smoke Out. Not sure.

No Smoking Day is an annual health awareness campaign that helps smokers that want to stop. The first No Smoking Day was on Ash Wednesday in 1984 and it now takes place on the second Wednesday in March. The campaign is now in its 24th year and is a firm fixture in the UK calendar because of its continuing success. On No Smoking Day 2006 1.5 million smokers made a quit attempt and millions more used the Day to take a step towards stopping smoking.
The campaign is run by a charity of the same name, which is based in London and has four full-time staff. The charity is funded by a coalition of governmental and voluntary sector organisations with an interest in health.
The No Smoking Day charity has a very clear vision and mission:
    Vision
To reduce tobacco related illness and death
    Mission
To support smokers who want to stop through providing an opportunity to do so, and highlighting the effective help that is available
    The Day’s main messages:
No Smoking Day is a good opportunity to stop
Smokers can get help when they want to stop
There are health and other benefits to stopping smoking
    What the Day does:
Spurs smokers into action – millions took part in NSD 2006
Appeals to smokers of all types – whatever their age, sex or social background
Publicises and explains the help that smokers can get when they want to stop
Captures the attention of the media with lots of supportive TV, newspaper and radio coverage
    What it doesn’t do:
Try to force smokers to stop – it’s for people who are already interested in doing something about their smoking

March 14 but another website says that it is held annually on the Third Thursday of November. another says november 18th. However the American Cancer Society has designated November 20th as “The Great American Smokeout”
Since the american cancer society is a larger organization i would say that your best bet would be to go with them.
