What Effects Does Smoking Marijuana Have On Concentration?
I remember smoking as teen and not really being able to do my homework or read anything and actually absorb what I just read. It was kind of like looking at words and having no idea why I was looking at them. Are there actually different kinds of weed that trigger different functions in the brain or something? Watch a movie called super high me. Pretty good and it got me thinking that’s why I am asking this question.

There are over 5,000 different types of marijuana, each with different ratios of 60 active cannabinoids that determine the feeling you get when you use it.
So yeah, they all do slightly different things depending on many many variables…
Usually if you are not a casual weed smoker you will find it hard to do things normally while intoxicated since your brain and body are not used to being altered. This is all a cognitive perceptual thing that has nothing to do with chemicals or tolerance, and only happens in people who are inexperienced with changes in their thinking patterns. It all has to do with what the person themselves can handle psychologically at the time they take it.
The 3 W’s to marijuana:
Who you are, where you are, and what you’re taking. Remember that.

I think that it depends less on what “kind” you have and more on what mood you’re in beforehand. Your lack of concentration on your schoolwork in highschool was probably the result of having not wanted to do the work in the first place. Whereas, poetry (Whitman comes to mind and Wallace Stevens), music, painting all can benefit from an occasional indulgence. The trick is to have the artistic/scholarly mindset before you begin. At least that is what my research into the subject has indicated.
